358 sport pack w/red leather seats.

No reason to go higher unless you want to spring for the M series.

I love my BMW. Quick, comfortable, subtle but upscale compared to brands like Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, etc.

I personally think that the big German brands have kinda lost their passion a bit. The standard-ass BMWs/M-Bs/Audis are just boring - the 3 Series/C Class/A3 are particularly sleep inducing. I respect that the more mid-tier cars in the line (5 Series/E Class/A6) have their merit, but even then there are some rough edges (e.g. the interior of the 5 series is roomy but bland). The M-B refresh seems to be heading in the right direction, but I drove one of their new E-classes about a year ago and it was technically lacking.

I think what all brands need is to sexify the cars a hell of a lot more while keeping the basics intact. Case in point, the Audi A6 looks and feels like a luxury box on wheels with a supercharged engine in it for no real perceptible reason. Ugh.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Coupe is, I think, heading in the right direction. It's an overbearing luxury monster. The dotted grille gives it some sort of luxe vibe, whereas the sloping coupe roofline basically says "fuck you, this is a luxury sportscar barge and no-one sits in the back seat." It's a goddamn penis and a middle finger sculpted out of sheet metal. Too bad the overall impression (in interior and exterior) is kinda gaudy and the brand has questionable reliability nowadays.

I can't say much, though, I drive an Audi A7 Prestige. Fuckin' love it, too, it's like the S-Couple for a poor like me.

>> No.10516023

Thanks! You and me both. I shopped for like a year before stumbling across the A7 with great skepticism and somehow ended up loving it. It's basically what BMW's 6 series should be, in a way.

>> No.10516035

>>10516009
I actually disagree with 3 series being boring but 5 series being okay for BMW. I hate how minimal the adjustments are on the cars considering you're bumping them about 10k per "number." Just seems like a ripoff, plus a few people have said they have piss poor resale value on anything over the 3 series.

I considered trading my BMW for a Mercedes when I'm tired of it, but I haven't heard great things about quality since Chrysler bought them. Any idea if that's still the case?

>> No.10516078

>>10516035
I can totally agree that the differences are minimal, at least in pure functionality. I wouldn't ever go for a 3 series if only because I like big fuckin' cars like a good American, but there's something beautiful about its' simplicity, including the ZMS+ZPT setup.

The quality of M-B is still weird. Like any luxury brand, you get a lot of people complaining about the cost of part repairs for stupid crap. That said, at least from my test drives over the years, the interiors of the older C- and E- classes was kinda shit - the MBTex was okay, but lots of stuff (even buttons...) seemed to fall apart scarily quickly. It made me seriously worry about the quality of the parts I wasn't seeing. The new models seem to be better at least in terms of interior, but I'm skeptical.

I love bmws. I've had a e30 325i, a e36 m3, and my current is a e46 330ci. Thinking of getting a 330i zhp as my next car, the extra two doors would come in handy. Might really put money in this one, maybe a supercharger. Pic related my current e46

I can understand that. If I had more money I'd spring for something a bit roomer as well, but the 3 series does the trick on a mid-range budget.

>quality of MB still weird
Yeah, I was a little concerned with that. If it's improving, maybe in the next few years I'll spring for one just to try something new. I had a bad customer service experience with MB and as such went with BMW. No regrets so far.
>>10516186

I've got a CLA45 AMG.

The onion car.

Not that powerful compared to bigger engines, but for one of the best (stock) 4-cylinder engines, it does fine vs 99% of the things i find on the street.

And the sounds it makes ALWAYS cause people to turn heads. And dont even get me started about it's racing start. Fun sheeeet.
