Depends on what you call "tight". If all you can afford is ikea, then either make due and just keep it simple and clean, or devote time to antiquing and thrifting, and learn how to stain, strip, restore, and sew. I look at expensive items and find a way to get something similar for cheap. I'm restoring an old morris chair because I don't want to spend $1000 on the chair I really want. If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat, but you have to make due. Hell, buy knock offs if you really need a certain design. I'm not great with this either, but making an effort is nearly half the battle. What kind of style are you going for? I'll gladly offer my opinion, for what it's worth. Though I'm sure someone else will have better or more detailed advice.

Yeah, I try to create great lighting and a nice atmosphere overall.
Do you know a good guide on lighting etc.?
Its not that easy when you mostly have to buy used ikea furniture. I kept it very clean but still a little mixed up so its not all "malm" for example.
I am currently looking for a very nice oriental rug to set the tone.

I am not a freak or anything but I just dont want my interior to be mediocre.

Sadly thats not really an option. Here in germany its hard to find something for cheap and I am following a modern minimalistic style anyway. I live in a pre war apartment so that should look quite nice.
Like I already said an oriental rug is kind of a must have for me, I am hoping that it will make my room look worth more than it is. I tried to find a used rug but thats impossible, either they are way too expensive or have holes in them etc.
I probably will have to save some money up and buy a middle class one (500 to 800€ maybe).

firstly, never said it wasnt comfy, ski lodges are ultimate comfy place
i just said that ski cabin inspo always reminds me of smell ski stuff
lastly, i think there is a large differnce between being around snow and skiing. i live in montreal currently and you don't get that smell walking or playing in the snow all day. the smell is from spending hours in your clothes( sweating in your boots, getting your butt wet from sitting on a lift and falling over) and then having those clothes in such proximity to the living room, since ski cabins are usually small (read: expensive)

I am turning 19 next month and I am still living with my parents so I cant give you a solid number but I was looking for an apartment myself in the near and I live in a pretty nice area (central on a big street with old architecture) that is pretty expensive compared to others.
I could find nice ones for about 400 to 500 already.
