If it gets too greasy and a bit overwhelming then use conditioner instead of shampoo to wash it.
Coconut oil could work for styling, go easy on it though. Maybe look into a wax and experiment.

I have that kinda hair + the waves and it looks pretty long, more than you'd expect.

For waves the advice I could give you is probably embrace the bedhead, and if you've just showered then let it dry on it's own. Letting your hair air-dry usually frizzes it up, but I've found after doing no poo it just goes a lot like that pic.
Getting messy hair from hats/hoods/bed is close, but you'd need to neaten it up a little in the mirror so it doesn't look all matted.
