10445078 No.10445078 [Reply] [Original]

Hello darlin, nice to see you, its been a long time

I tried armycore, like what some people were suggesting.

Did I do okay?

>> No.10445087

>>10445078

better but you did it wrong

don't get a jacket with all that flare on it.
you're still wearing that belt buckle too you bastard.

shoes aren't bad this time.

>> No.10445090

>>10445078
Better than last time but still
>lose weight, get fit
>get better fitting clothes
In the meantime just read the sticky and keep it basic. You can keep the jacket.

>> No.10445095

>>10445087
>>10445090
Thanks, I pry will end up keeping my grandads jacket in one piece though.
As for the shoes, I rarely wear them. I thought theyd do a lot better than the loafers I usually wear

>> No.10445100

>>10445078
Better fitting clothes than last time, I still would recommend better fitting jeans with this, even though they're better than the last pants. That being said, once you get better fitting jeans, I would recommend cuffing them with this look.

I also just think it's kind of weird wearing a Soviet belt buckle with a US army jacket.

>> No.10445128

It is, but I kinda dig it. Items from a time of opposition to one of culmination

Are the jeans supposed to look like that? They look super loose

>> No.10445133

Don't wear army jackets unless you've served

Sadly that's the only salvageable piece from that fit, so you're out of luck

Start again, and do something about that hair kek

>> No.10445154

>>10445133
Why not? Everyone wears army jackets, telling him that is bolting the stable door.

And looks much better OP. The plain white tee definitely works. Roll the hem of the jeans up a couple of times, and when possible get some skinnier ones to wear with those shoes.

>> No.10445164

People who say this piss me off. He already stated that it's his grandfather's.
Why should anyone not be allowed to wear memorabilia that a deceased family member specifically gave them to wear?

>> No.10445171

>>10445078
wow you're actually slowly getting better

you need to get your jeans to taper from the hem though, and that belt buckle is really obnoxious. Ditch it.

Still, a substantial improvement from last time my friend. Also, you need to lose weight.

I mean I can appreciate you're trying to make some sort of "statement" but in this particular fit the buckle looks ugly, like there's too much going on. In general I only think you should wear big belt buckles if the rest of your outfit is really plain.

Even if you are strapped for cash, please don't buy cheap belts from like Chaps or something. Those belts are admittedly cheap and plentiful, but they are also made out of cheap bonded leather that quickly cracks and breaks with use. I made that mistake a lot a few years ago.

As a general rule of thumb, get a non-reversible leather belt (reversible ones are convenient, but break easily) made out of high-quality leather with a finished edge.

>> No.10445431

I haven't been on /fa/ for weeks so I have no idea who are you. How bad was it last time you posted if everyone thinks that this fit is an improvement? Props for trying to improve though.

Honestly? I'd look around for sales to lower the price, but I've paid $40-50 for some of mine. Worth every penny - they're gonna last me a lifetime assuming I don't get fat or use them as a noose (in which I suppose they'd still last me a lifetime...)

Replacing one every couple of months doesn't make much financial sense - $100 for two belts (black, brown) now that will last ~3-5 years is cheaper than buying and replacing $20 belts every 6 months.

>> No.10445493

>>10445476
Oh, that's what I'd consider cheap/affordable anyways. I thought you were telling me to spend £300 on some designer meme belt with an obnoxious buckle logo or something.

Where do you get your belts from?

>> No.10445499

>>10445493
>Where do you get your belts from?
No particular place, honestly. I recently got a Nordstrom belt on sale (don't judge me, I just wanted a light tan to go with some shoes I purchased) that's surprisingly high quality - they run around $50, but honestly have a great feel and construction for being some bullshit store brand:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/mens-belts-suspenders?dept=8000001&origin=topnav#category=b60140085&type=category&defaultsize3=&size=&width=&color=&price=&brand=540&stores=&instoreavailability=false&lastfilter=brand&sizeFinderId=4&resultsmode=&segmentId=0&page=1

Allen Edmonds has good belts too, but they're surprisingly pricier than I remember.

OP, the outfit looks dece, I've been following your shit for the past few days and its a huge improvement. Good job on choosing sneakers over loafers. The jeans fit kind of weird, I would suggest finding some better fitting pants with a taper, and cuffing them. Good job regardless, keep it up.

Looking at you I'm starting to realize you're not nearly as fat as I thought. Untuck the shirt and cuff the jeans. The jeans aren't inherently bad but you shljld really really look into finding some slimmer jeans with a tapered leg.

I'm honestly not sure. I think it's a combo of the jeans being a tad unflattering and the low angle of your camera. If you could find a way to get your camera at chest level or so you might look better. Its not any sort of necesity, if you really look you can tell you're not gigantic, its just that first glance. I would still suggest losing weight or toning up but its not like you're hueg.

Because it looks bad. This isn't about making a political or personal statement, it's about creating a good outfit. That shirt should be kept in the closet and saved for special family occasions or when you've mastered your look enough to incorporate it in a way that works. It's not going to work now, sorry fam.

>>10445784
Please don't take fashion cues from Charlie from IASIP. His character is a crazy loser and his outfit reflects that--he's the veritable schizophrenic army vet or hobo who gets his clothes from second hand shops. That's not a style you want to crib.
