Use Shoetrees for any and all leather shoes.

I use them in my camp mocs because I refuse to wear socks and I think the shoe trees have managed to keep the smell under control pretty well. I guess they've also prevented creasing because the shoes still look pretty new after like 6 months.

If you have 2 pairs, the cedar will help most pairs dry in 24 hours which allows for a quicker rotation. Did you seriously think that just because some shoe trees aren't made of unfinished cedar, that meant cedar has no advantage over other materials except for how good it smells ?

creasing eventually leads to cracking, which leads to throw-away-buy-a-new-pair

use shoe trees
insert in leather shoes a hour or two after wearing
longer if you live in a damp place or sweat like an arab camel salesman

insert them in properly: if they're the type pictured in the op, loosen laces all the way down
push tree into shoe, making sure the two halves stay together as far as it's possible
push in so that you can get the heel in
if you've pushed the two halves in properly, they will expand in the right place and not cause weird stretching in the wrong place because you were retarded in inserting them

keep them in
don't wear that pair for 24hrs
rotate your shit with another pair of shit

brush your leather shoes with a soft horsehair brush
if you don't do this, increased likelihood of microgrit accumulating in the creases, particularly at the main flex point before the toes
micro grit tears into the leather overtime
brush that shit out when the creases are being stretched by the trees

do all this and you'll have longer lasting, better looking shoes that still look well worn, but also well cared for unlike some piece of shit slob

note that these trees are for stretching out the main flex/crease point
if you really have to force the heel in that might not be a good idea depending on the shoe and leather type in question

doing so may stretch the entire shoe in a bad way
it's okay to have the heel part sticking out

Wrong.
Those boots were designed to look creased.
Slipping in trees won't make them look different because as soon as you take them out and wear them around they'll start looking the same anyway.

Trees don't prevent creasing, they just keep the creases already present stretched out for when you don't wear them. They help to mitigate further bad creasing. With a boot that was designed to look like nigger elephant foreskin, this isn't going to be a problem.

I don't think trees would work on them anyway; best just to brush and condition guidis as they do have nice leather.

Wood does not absorb water very rapidly from surfaces parallel to its linear cells. Wood absorbs moisture from the air, not from a leather lined surface.

Furthermore cedar is a prime choice as siding, decking and trim even untreated because it doesn't fucking absorb much moisture.

They're for leather shoes. Wooden shoe trees are only useful in absorbing moisture from leather shoes. If your shoes are imitation leather or something else, you don't need fucking shoe trees (you obnoxious faggot) - if you're worried about the shape of your sneakers, grab some cheap plastic ones, Anything else and you're just showing off how much of a retard you are.
