i use bill currency from countries ive traveled and scraps like receipts, junk mail, matchbook covers, business cards, etc.

your pic and stuff like it is try-hard, even cringe material. the idea that you need motivation to keep reading is bad enough, motivation coming from your bookmark is worse, anthropomorphizing the bookmark a step futher down, and introducing pop culture into the equation just seals the deal. may as well wear a sandwich board to advertise your plebery to everyone around you

I use business cards, if they ever get crinkled or lost I just grab a card from anywhere since every business has them and nobody minds if I take like 4 at once.

I use a leather strap I found on an old book that was property of my grandfather.
The strap has some golden linings on the borders.

there is no reason not to use a ebook reader, they're dirt cheap and easier to carry around.

Better yet, a decent size phone and you've got an ereader. Easy to turn pages with the volume keys, and you track your eyes less than a larger screen or page.

Digital reading is too convenient to turn down when travel is so important.
