Where can I find a good, inexpensive replica of the canvas Common Projects?

If you want a good alternative go with Greats. I've owned three pairs of Common Projects (2 Achilles low, and a Hi Raw leather) and Greats are almost identical in terms of quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I got mine.

If you remove the lame leather tag on the tongue they look basically like my Common Projects minus the stitching on the side. I also had a coupon code, so I copped my pair for $120 shipped.

Use a razor blade to cut the stitches. This isn't rocket science...Literally takes 30 seconds.

are you drunk or blind or just some sort of viral marketer

greats made a valiant effort to copy the CP silhouette while setting themselves apart by adding 'details' (side panel and perforations) but the reality of the situation is that they completely missed the shape by a landslide. the toe on greats is much more round, they crease like nobodys business, and the toebox itself comes much higher than achilles

no sane person would accept that downgrade, much less someone who's owned three pairs, I'm gonna have to conclude that you're a liar

Gustin Shoes
Made in the same factory as CPs but are $149

>> No.10341802

Are they really made in the same factory? Or are they using the "made in Italy" thing to suggest that it's just a possibility?

Also, I'm sort of interested in getting these, but I am not sure if they are actually any good, since they ship out in November.

This is clearly written by someone who has never owned, let alone seen a pair of either outside of the internet.

I'm not even sure what you are basing your claims off of. The silhouette is identical, and the only difference in the toe box is small breathing holes on top. They have a Margom sole (same as common projects), calf leather lining, and the outer leather is from the same source as Common Projects. Mine have not creased bad at all.

Let's no pretend Common Projects are some mystical shoe. After owning 3 pairs, and riding the "meme" wave for 3 years, I'm somewhat over paying $400 for shoe's I can get for $150 else where.

Yes, Great's designs are not original, but that's not the point. Their goal was to make $400 quality shoes (materials, source, etc) for under $200. I'm not trying to shill you, but I'm pretty fucking happy with my $120 purchase.

r u me

2 CPs, 1 greats, although I got the greats in between the CPs you can definitely tell the CPs are better, but the Greats are awesome as well.

I also removed the patch on the tongue as well, I'm glad they didn't glue it down.

Anyway i recommend the greats if you don't have the money for CPs

>> No.10341959

i dunno man the greats silhouette is definitely different than the CPs. The Greats are a little but more stocky/bulky. The CPs are more streamlined.

different guy but no no man. ok so any shoe with a margom sole is made in the same factory as CPs and margielas. margom sole isn't just a varity, like "gum sole" or whatever, it just denotes that it's a shoe that was manufactured by the margom brand in italy, and they just use their own type of sole.

btw you can tell it's a margom sole because the sidewall and bottom are one solid unit. this is more comfortable than a standard sole but it's more durable obviously because the side can't separate from the bottom and cause the whole shoe to unravel.
