my new Patty Ervell stonewash jeans got put through the washing machine and dryer earlier. Is this terrible for them, or is that just a problem with raws? Since it's already stonewashed denim, do I have to worry about washing it as much?

In my opinion, neither shoe is very good aesthetically.
But objectively, the Wangs will last longer and are better constructed, are much less fuccboi/entry level, and will look more like CPs. For both shoes, you get what you pay for.
My favorite "CP alternatives", though I hate that term, are the Adidas Rod Laver 2014 edition. They are hard to find but are relatively inexpensive, well constructed, look a lot like CPs and I can guarantee almost no one will have seen them before.

These are great, very light and the extra layer isn't going to make you sweat more. My only issue is that the v-necks aren't deep enough to wear them under t-shirts without it showing.

comme des garcons is a label, they run a mass-market (or at least more available) division called cdg play which features very loud branding (the hearts, cdg/cdg play written out, etc) over basic pieces of clothing. you'll see a lot of cdg play stuff posted (especially the cdg x converse low tops/high tops), but for the most part it's paying for a name/recognition of a brand on your clothing. actual comme des garcons is more respectable and interesting, but far more expensive

Only suspect insofar as paying $30 for a jacket means you are supporting awful factories. Not saying you have to spend $500, but understanding the human cost of making things is nice.

At your range, either buy something at a specialty retailer (UO seems to have a few) or try something like the Rains if actual protection is a necessity. Rains is at the high end of your budget, but a solid buy and a bit cleaner and more polished than what you might see at a lot of the stores you're shopping at.

All right, so I've got wider hips, naturally. I'm not overweight (6'4 172 ibs), but my hips definitely are a little bit bigger. I can personally recommend the J75 by Jump Marconi. I've had mine for close to a year now with shoes trees and they're still totally uncreased. They're pretty comfy for oxfords and also clean well if you get anything on them.
