i ordered a pair of slacks and 3 pairs of jeans

the slacks were really wide, incredibly short, and almost not tapered at all. looked like something out of danny devito's closet

the jeans were really shit material, thinner than most fast fashion stretch jeans even. i got two pairs in the same cut but different colors, but they fit differently, and not well. ended up turning them into cutoffs.

and then instead of the last pair of jeans they sent me a plain white t shirt

A Kind Of Guise

It's a pale grail of mine but it's spenny as fuck, only available in that colour on their site and sold out in all but M. It doesn't help that there isn't much of a resale market for the brand.

It's made from this really cool fabric that's completely waterproof, breathable and doesn't look techy. It's basically everything I want in a rain jacket and I'll probably never get one.

I assume you're using khaki here in the colour sense, so it'll be basic, but sure it'll work. Chinos are just a little played out in certain circumstances. Off white looks great against lighter or washed denim, as can some darker browns, depending on the texture.

It's a little late on the uptake, but lots of great instrumental post rock bands, and even shoegaze stuff, can be pretty chill. I like that they aren't just slow melodies, and they have actual build up and progression. Explosions, GSY!BE, A Silver Mt. Zion, This Will Destroy You, etc

FWIW I also think that, while it's definitely not laid back, garage rock suits the style too, just in a different way. Though at this point it's converging on norm and slacker "core".
