I have pic related and they work with all three styles which is pretty nice, so they're the only shoes I wear (other than boots, sandals, and beaters when appropiate). Your example sounds fine. I can see palewave and americana overlapping, and you can put pieces from either style into an otherwise memechrome fit.

I'm just coming off a year's paid internship and now have a poor summer before a poor final year at uni.

Due to being a manlet with shoulders on the wider side, I have to purchase clothes that are slightly too big (mainly sleeves and waist).

In the past I'd been taking my clothes to a tailor to get altered but I can't afford to do that anymore (shit like £25 to shorten sleeves + dart waist).

I do however have 2 months, a sewing machine, a shitload of pins and a willingness to learn/try on some cheap as shit shirts and maybe on some of my own ones after getting some confidence.

Are there any good guides on:

- Shortening dress shirt sleeves (by like an inch to inch and a half)
- Shortening suit jacket sleeves (All my suits are currently okay but I may end up grabbing a new suit for graduation)
- Taking in the waist on dress shirts
- Tapering and shortening trousers (can usually get by with the latter but not every manufacturer provides a 29" inseam)

Just sizing up is not enough because it also gets wider. The bigger t-shirt wouldn't look good under the slimmer shirt. For a perfect look you have to find a shirt which is longer and has longer sleeves but a similair width.

Those aren't going to protect your ankles in a crash. The boot needs to come further up. Also motorcycle boots are designed to be as rigid as possible across the whole piece, unlike these boots which aren't as they are designed to be walked in for long periods of time. I'm not saying don't buy them. I'm just saying ankle injuries take a long ass time to recover from so you have to weigh up the pros and cons. Would you rather be as safe as possible or look cool?

They're just designed for a more comfortable feel. The sole is basically that of a nike free run imo and it also has the nike label so it's kind of trendy. Also, shia labeouf wears them. That's pretty much it. They just simply look more fashionable than pretty much any combat boot.

levi's qc is horrible, meaning it's difficult to consistently get well-fitting jeans from them unless you try them on irl
an alternate reason people dislike them is that they prefer raw denim, which is not conventionally washed (or washed at all) to rid it of excess indigo, meaning it fades in high contrast along patterns of wear (creases, fabric stretching, etc) which some people like. raw denim also usually uses higher quality cotton/sewing, albeit at a higher price point
if you like the cuts and fabric from levi's, can find something that fits you well, and you want it to stay the same color, there's nothing wrong with it, and it's cheaper than nearly anything else you can find (if you're in the us). black 511/510s are a staple in almost everyone's wardrobe here, because there's not much that beats them on what they provide
