I did this, and I thought it looked cool.

I also had a style of wearing short-sleeve tees over long-sleeve ones and doing those with two-sizes-too-big bootcuts that dragged on the floor. I was also about 210lb (Most definitely not muscle).

College: Found MFA, acted like I knew what I was doing. All my jeans were regular fit and looked bad. Girlfriend picked out a bunch of my clothes, and she has the fashion sense of a blind person. Most stuff was still terrible ill-fitting.

Also, tailor your shirts and hem your pants. A shit piece will look not so revolting if it fits, and a good one will be ruined if it doesn't. And dont wear 3 layers if it's 30 degrees outside.

Thrift shops are ideal since they force you to actually learn about clothing to find the better items.
