I'm thinking of getting a grey/black denim jacket real soon. post inspo, recommendations, etc.

I really like this black denim jacket from Helmut Lang but I'm not sure which size I should get, a medium or large. Anyone have experience with Helmut Lang sizing?

>> No.10061756

in my experience, helmut lang tops tend to run a bit small. i'm somewhere between a medium and a large in most things, but i'm definitely a large in HL.

what's your height / weight?

also this thread shouldn't exist, you killed another thread for your question. questions like this belong in fuccboi general.

Sorry, the only fuccboi general was 300+ posts

I'm 6'0 ~160lbs. Do you think I should go for a large?

Slim, but true. I take either an XS or S and prefer XS for fit, S for length. Just depends on what fit I'm after.

how versatile are denim jackets? are they ok for summer wear or nah

>> No.10063483

i just bought the same jacket. i chose the recommended size for me. Yes it tends to run very slim but it has garterized armpit and elbows so it won't feel too constrictive to you arms. cop in sale...

Can someone tell me how American Eagle jean jackets fit?

>> No.10063758

which one is that? I'd say they'd be alright in summer. Black might be a bit too hot but the jacket itself is usually not too thick

why wouldn't you just buy a levis one

you can get them relatively cheap and in good shape on ebay
or buy them new on sale at amazon

Just copped this jacket about a week ago, it's definitely a great piece. Unfortunately, it's a little large on me (i wear a size medium t-shirt normally). I got size large as it was my first Helmut Lang piece and didn't want it to be unflatteringly tight (experience from owning Gosha pieces). Luckily, it does have buttons on the back that the waist straps can be secured to for a slimmer fit, which helped. But still not ideal.

I'm 5'11, 160 lbs, 31" waist, 39" chest for reference.

I'd say it's worth the $300. The stitching is top notch, nice detailing with neat biker-style armpit material, and an overall timeless look.

I may wax mine to get more of the Rick Owens worker jacket look.

The coupon is the best you're going to get. I think they leave it in their "essentials" category, so they probably won't mark it down. If they do, it won't be by much.
