First time poster here, but you don't care about that.

I'm looking at watches and I really like the style of the Timex Weekender. The only reason I haven't ordered one yet is because it doesn't have a date display. Does anyone know of any watches that have the same look but include the date window? I thought about picking up an Expedition and swapping out the strap with the same style as the Weekender (another feature I like) but I don't know if that's even possible.

Easy Reader is closer to the Weekender aesthetic but with a date display.

I've actually been looking at this one. I do like the smooth second hand movement.

I have both. I almost always wear my easy reader. It's just a lot more clean.

I have also heard the weekender is loud as fuck. You can read stories about people who have it on the other side of the room when they go to bed and they can still hear it.

I got the Seiko 5 a year and a half ago and I've worn it just about every day since. Ive used the fabric strap it came with but I'll probably get a leather band at some point. I like the simple face and how it's not huge and obnoxious.

The only "issues" are resetting the date when there's only 30 days in a month, and that every four weeks or so the watch is about 5 minutes fast. But these problems are part of the fun of owning a mechanical watch.

Do you ever have issues with the watch staying wound up? I've read some reviews that say if you don't wear it for a day or two it'll stop but some people say it barely makes it more than a few hours after they take it off. I imagine I would only need it to make it through the night.

>>10056753
Yeah I really like the presentation on the Timex but unfortunately it just doesn't meet all my requirements. I wish there was one with a black/dark case + dial kinda like the one in my OP on the left but with more features. I've heard the easy riders are just as loud as the weekender, too.

>> No.10056795

>>10056790
If you wear it normally for a full day it will stay wound throughout the night. It only stops completely if you stop wearing it for something like 36 hours

go to target or somethin m8, they you usually have a whole wall!
i picked out a timex, (forget the name now) was about $30, and when i google it i cant find the exact one. theres hundreds of them. it basically looks like a weekender with a wider bezel, and it has a chronometer and the date. its not a weekender, but its similar.

one note to point out though, the date thing sticks and i have to help it along sometimes by manually adjusting the time forward a few hours just to bump it over and then then rewinding. not sure what happened to it but in its several years in my employ it has spent a collective few months with other people when i take it off at parties or something and forget it.

expedition or something like that is the name of the one i got

yeah exactly like that but with a chronometer along the outer bezel. i got a leather strap, but i regret it, i feel a nylon would be a lot more comfortable.

I got looking at watches and fell down the rabbit hole.

Weekender is a nice watch for everyday use.

Easy cop at the price point.

Some people with autism get triggered by the ticking but just chuck a jumper over it if you're trying to sleep.

yea spend money on a watch that you have to put a fucking sweater over at night if you want to sleep, if you think it's not worth it then you have AUTISM dude triggered ya

I've had the watch for 3 years and only ever done this when a qt girl has complained about the noise.

I don't think it's loud. I can tell this is serious to you with all your posts.

I love the simple and accurate look of the Nomos. I like the Club Automat Datum Dunkel and Ahoi Atlantik Datum.

Price range is too high for me though. Anyone have any cheap alternatives that are similar in aesthetic and functionality?

people seriously think the weekender is loud? I can barely hear it unless I put it next to my face. Even less so if I'm in a public place. I'm sure it's only loud for people that don't go outside

>> No.10061428

>>10061254
I don't think anyone is saying it's loud in public, just if you have it on your nightstand when you're in your quiet room sleeping you might hear it

I saw some on a display at Kohl's last week and I had to hold them next to my ear to hear anything. There weren't that many people around as it was the middle of a weekday. But since I made the mistake of looking on the internet for watches I'm now convinced that I need a sweeping second hand/mechanical movement.
