****FICTIONAL GAME BACKSTORY****

you meet a pretty girl with terrible fashion sense. she dresses in weird plan clothes that are vaguely boyish and unisex and they don't compliment her figure at all. she wears no jewelry but does have pierced ears. no makeup whatsoever. as you get to know her she tells you about her horrible childhood, wherein her abusive middle class parents forced her to dress as a boy and keep her hair short and even tell her teachers and peers that she is a boy. they took her dolls away and tried to get her to play boy games like throwing rocks at each other instead of playing house. she informs you that she's very self-conscious about her appearance, and while it's great that she can now be herself she feels stylistically crippled. she asks for your help in putting together a basic starter wardrobe and w/e (accessories, makeup, hair/skin products too maybe)

Top: Basic cropped t-shirt (not loose) in white, navy, or heather grey
Bottoms: American apparel light wash jeans, short pleated skirt, or pleated khaki shorts
Socks: Basic white athletic socks
Shoes: Beefroll bass weejuns in black, those classic superga shoes in white, or white keds

No make-up, no accessories (assuming you're hot). This would be a good transition from being dressed like a boy all your life, since I'm assuming you wouldn't have the confidence to pull off anything too wild. And you'd still look hot (again, assuming you're pretty)
