Don't be fooled. Shayne Oliver is tucking in a lot of very commercial products into his shows more and more and letting the overall mood and styling carrying the aggressive edge that people expect from him. The emphasis on all-in-one dressing is a new move from him, but the opening look shows a direct link to the jersey/pique dresses he showed for fall and using his signature zips, he's tying this new proposal back to familiar techniques and details.

HBA is one of those brands that actually do well in spring because the need to lighten up can actually do a lot to temper the more outrageous elements and finding new ways to expose the body or to keep cool while maintaining his look provides the right sort of challenge for Oliver to react against. Sometimes, the heavily layered looks can obscure the actual work that they've put into the clothes.

Casting yourself in your own show is a gusty move (and one that people might find gimmicky), but it's a show of good faith. He really does wear this, he really does believe in it. The "football" detailing and more overtly lavish finishes on some of the shirting and tailoring are some of the more successful pieces and the preponderance of bags points towards obvious areas of growth for the label.

It's hard to go up against the incredibly ambitious three-part showing for last spring or the very mature offering for Pitti Uomo and this might not rank high in terms of how far he pushed the envelope, but it's good to remember that Oliver is building a business and not just a brand.

Stiff. These strict and severe injections of "attitude" that just wind up feeling neutered. Two things make a ready-to-wear show hit home for me: either the clothes are so well-done (even if they aren't that new or special) that I crave its wearability or it's such an intriguing and thoughtfully crafted attempt at something new that I'm willing to give it a spin for the hell of it.

This Dior showing fails on both counts. I neither feel an urge to splurge nor does my pulse quicken from the excitement of something new. The closest he gets is the wild color and sumptuous texture of the orange bomber, but so much of this show felt like slightly flat renditions of a familiar song. The quirky, faintly superstitious charms had a sweetness, however vague, that could've also been worth exploring. Just a bit bloodless to me.

also just to clear up on the weight thing, it does apply but Hedi doesn't give a fuck. there were a lot of street cast kids this time, who were probably a bit bigger than normal slp, but they used most of the same models as normal, who were definitely under the bmi. i haven't got any representation other than London where i live at uni. I have to be billed through a french agency that i'm not signed with. it fucking sucks because french agencies take a larger cut, and so i'm left with only 25% of the initial sum. Luckily they don't charge anything on the campaign and showroom, just my London agency so i get 75% of that. Showroom is 1000 euros a day.

If you wanna travel then it's perfect, literally free pass, and usually you're there for a while which is great because you get so much time to explore. I'd never go to Paris for 3 weeks because i live so close it seems like a weekend away, this year i've been in paris longer than i've been at my home in Bristol so it's kinda fun. If you've been told to try it, try it. If they say no try lose weight then do it again, you don't need to be perfect, especially ysl

I was offered the YSL campaign in March which was 6 days in LA, my university said they would kick me out if i went with it, so I had to turn it down after they had already booked my flight, I thought that was the end of my modeling but apparently not, none of these questions are dumb, i'm still emailing my agent every week with a dumb question like what is a mother agency

perfect skin is probably the least important thing. I don't, most people don't, that's why there is makeup and photoshop. No matter how good your skin is there will be makeup and you'll all look the same anyway

photos don't have to and aren't supposed to be nice, how nice can a passport photo be? that's pretty much it. I recommend 3 photos. 1 passport profile, one side profile, and one of you full body posing naturally

if it helps at all, i have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, it's not that bad but it's just a bit on my forehead, it's noticeable to me, and it simply won't go, it really bugs me but it's never hindered me at all

A Campaign is basically a promotion, billboards, posters. I'll post a SLP campaign, i just shot one today promoting evening wear.

You can do shit like ecommerrce, which is like modeling for online shopping, but i've never done that. I do magazines and stuff, but really i've been quite available so haven't been bothered to do much.
