Because I think it's an interestingly exaggerated take on the "poofy" silhouette of the traditional bomber jacket, or in the case of other jackets, an unorthodox take on the usually slim and cropper rider's jacket. Much like a lot of Yamamoto's other work that incorporates oversized garments, it'll also probably look extremely cool in motion as well. As for the pin-up motif? I just think that looks cool in a kitschy way

I honestly don't know much about the season other than the leather jackets: information about it as well as pictures is relatively hard to find, I've been lucky enough to come across the pictures I have through tumblr (and once on here).
RE: Yamamoto's work and his philosophy - I think it's funny, in what I've seen from that collection (literally just the leather jackets) are quite outlandish and attention-grabbing - far removed from the understated aesthetic that Yamamoto has cultivated, the so-called "armor". It's odd that though he's talked about not wanting to draw people's attention, how his clothing is meant "protect you from unwelcome eyes", it's far from modest, it's very much an attention-grabbing piece
Yeah, if another designer created a collection based around these oversized leather jackets with the pin-up graphics, I'd be all over it; in fact I think they'd work a lot better in another designer's world, they seem an anomaly in Yamamoto's world when compared to far more conservative and traditionally "yamamoto-esque" collections like AW05 or SS10.
Also that's not necessarily true, I'm just more knowledgeable about japanese brands, their designers and the ideas/constants behind their work, I just haven't invested a lot of effort into learning about european houses for whatever reason.
