I dressed really ordinarily over those years, mostly wearing stuff like shorts, jeans, or sometimes other pants, like cargo pants, corduroys, or occasionally something nicer, and then mostly t-shirts or the occasional polo or dress shirt. Probably the peak of my hairstyling was around when it looked like pic-related, often between 2000 and 2009, when I grew my hair out more. My hair still looks like that in this decade, sometimes, although I often get it cut a little shorter on the sides and back, to begin with. I generally prefer having a diagonally-slanting fringe, to a more combed back look, although I do that too, on occasion.

Your current hair is good, but perhaps you may consider sporting a variation on shag hair. It's been years since that many guys have done it, enough time passed for it to return to fashion, and even if it doesn't, it is still a style that works on more people than one may think. Or, you could just grow out the sides a little more, and still sport your hair the same way, otherwise.

Great actor, my favorite. My hairline is a bit higher than that, maybe by quarter of an inch all around, but I don't wear my hair back, often. I go for a pic-related hairstyle, when it's let down a little longer on the sides and back. I usually get very good coverage at that length. If I try the Clint Eastwood style, it just looks like I have a higher forehead. Maybe it's all right, or even good; my own perspective is biased.

I'm starting to miss the general 2000s approach to things, with hair, although I like clothing from this decade, better, especially more dressed-up articles; the 2000s was more about casual wear. I have pretty much went back and forth over the last ten years from short-back-and-sides haircut (not undercut, more like a Mad Men haircut), or forwards-facing fringe like a Caesar up to the length of pic-related, when grown out. Some of the styles in the link still hold up, to me.
