Some brands i use
>Maui Moisture
>Shea moisture
These are sulfate/weird chemical shit free, while also on the more affordable side. I use these and dilute the shampoo with water, sometimes apple cider vinegar. Straight shampoo is unnecessary and extra drying.
Shampoo only scalp, condition only ends.
THESE BRANDS DRY YOUR HAIR BAD
>Pantene
>Herbal Essence
>Dove
>Lorreal
>ETC, Theyre Usually drug store shampoos

For those with textured hair, and dont mind the pricier side, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend Devacurl products.
For "textured" hair (Similar to OP hair, confused pattern, frizz)
This brand is fokin amazing, nondrying whatsoever, and shapes hair amazingly OVER TIME as you take care of it.

Reminder to always be consistent.
I personally switch products, more concentrated shampoos on actual wash day (maui, shea) and Devacurl in between as it lacks in really leaving your hair feeling "clean" (Thats what i like abt this brand though)
I do not use oils in my hair, already naturally moisturized, for those with very dry hair, I'd suggest experimenting with deep conditioners that DO NOT HAVE SILICONE. (Devacurl conditioner is reeeallly great btw)
Silicone is what makes hair FEEL "soft" however its soft because its an unnatural coating on your hair that not only weighs it down (sometimes taking your hair texture away too) but actually dries it. Bad cycle

Hair is already the way its supposed to be, thats why its best to be as natural as possible and not add weird ass chemicals to the naturalness of it. Strips it away of its natural shape and confuses tf out of it.
Wonky comparison but- Like makeup, its more pleasing to enhance features than to completely change them. Which means, use natural things to encourage your hair to be nice and pretty vs chemicals that fry your hair and force it to be weird and confused
