My HY has a high fade and I don't like it anymore.

At first I got the high fade to fix botched hair that was up there. .

My hair grows in very thick and very quickly.

Luckily I'm 6'3" and no one notices that it looks odd from the top.

Do I just grow it out? I've been asking Jen to just "take the clippers up to the top" and reshave the top bit with every haircut.

If I tell her to leave it, then scissor cut the long part, can I eventually get the two to even out and look besser? Eventually lowering the fade to a better place?
