>now we have a bunch of people swooning over designers and circlejerking over Rick

When the discourse never passed a level beyond BR and Jcrew, I'd much rather prefer Rick circlejerking. Also don't act like old /fa/ wasn't on Hedi's dick 24/7. At least now we can have discussions about runway shows beyond Alexander Mcqueen f/w09.

>along with the pissing contests between trips

If you're implying the tripfag situation was better in the past than you clearly don't know what you're fucking talking about. Remind me of the boundless contributions that tripfags like coolguy22, unpop, cooltop, godof/fa/, tomorrow, eyebags, jackal, beth, cassiecupcakes, and scottishchan made to /fa/. Mind you this was before slater and casemods

I don't deny the shittiness of 2013 /fa/, but we've gone a long way since the board's inception. Beneath all the meme spouting and shitposting, which has always been here albeit in a different form, there's been markedly better quality posts than we've had before. There wasn't a single tripfag in old /fa/ with the thoughtfulness of poet or the technical expertise of twerk it or User. Not only that, but there was a rhetoric that circulated amongst the board that put traditional menswear as the end all, be all of fashion, much like you've demonstrated in the OP. We were so narrow minded back then that anything that dared play with the boundaries of menswear was lambasted into oblivion. Old /fa/ religiously adhered to dumb rules like no graphic tees and always tuck in your shirt; clothing -always- had to fit perfectly and anatomically and anything that tried to play with shape and silhouette was collectively shat on. RTW discussions never went beyond mall-tier brands and discussions centered around Topman and thrifting. /fa/ back then really was proto-/mfa/: we had the same general-populace view of fashion that we like to shit on these days.

So please, explain to me how exactly old /fa/ was better, because I simply can't fucking see it.

Pre-Miranda/Eye-bags outing was probs the best /fa/ has been in terms of general attitude/posting. It was mostly on-topic, posters were generally helpful and nice, markedly less tripfag drama, buzzwords didn't ruin conversations, and there were frequent runway discussions.

In terms of clothing though it was as fuccboi as you could get. H&M and Topman ruled the day and all the inspo pics came str8 from lookbook and The Sartorialist. I cringe when I look at the pics from 2008 in my /fa/ folder.
