Actually, the other dude is not wrong about Doug being a nazi larper, and I don't think it's entirely right to play down his sympathies with certain elements of the historic natsoc movement, particularly the (equally gay) SA. It should also be mentioned though that far more important to both Death In June and neofolk as a whole is the aesthetic and philosophical of early 20th century conservative revolutionary literature and occultism (which includes neo-paganism and aryanism as coopted by the NS). Concerning literary recs, Ernst Jünger's Waldgang and Evola's Ride The Tiger are standards of course, as is Spengler Decline Of The West. If you're fluent in German I recommend the poems and essays of Stefan George, Jünger's more poetic works and the poems and essays of contemporary writer Rolf Schilling. Evola's Introduction To Magic is also a wonderful book but obviously not for everyone. My favourite bands right now are probably Naevus and Sonne Hagal.

That was not implied, was it? Obviously openness toward homosexuality is an important part of neofolk, Doug P is not alone in that regard - neither among neofolkers nor among influences on neofolk.
