Yeah, the seconds hand is driven by the rotor. But a finely adjusted index finger is necessary here, to ensure the geartrain steps one, not two, or zero, or backwards. Later this was more figured out, with simple two-pole rotors, and this indexing finger horseshit was dropped. Still, interesting to work on.

Also this movement doesn't even have a trimmer cap, you need to swap out a tiny capacitor with a different one. I think these caps may have been proprietary Seiko caps, and I have no idea what their values might be, so the one it came with will have to stay in.

Here's the next page: The second wheel has an adjustable indexing finger, which is not that unusual for the time, and the wheel is driven immediately by the rotor, which on the other hand is pretty unusual. I guess this is the advantage of having a six-pole rotor.

Furthermore the rotor has a the-leaf cam for hacking, but since the rotor is six-pole, this means you can only hack the watch the NEXT EVEN. Fucking crazy!

Also the third wheel jewel on the dial side is adjustable by an eccentric, which is fucking nuts, and I suspect it might be the main source of my problems. I'll try running the movement tomorrow with only the rotor and second wheel.
