She is sitting up against a wall with a purse on the ground looking off as if observing something interesting happen, as though the photograph were taken on a whim by a friend who casually would admire her beauty. It’s just a studio setup for a advertisement campaign.

And you are across the room waiting for the shoot to finish up and pack up the van to take off to the next location. For a moment you think about going outside for a cigarette, but you won’t let yourself start smoking again. It is a quiet afternoon, and a neighbor three doors down is playing light classical music.

You look out the door and through the halll to a windows at the green trees in the sun and think back to all those parts of life you used to love, days you could spend alone in the afternoon with no worry. You think to all the things you’ve lost. The world is harder now and more real. There isn’t as much magic to it, and time seems to be moving at a breakneck speed towards death.

The rent is due every month now. Nothing seems to make much sense.
And the model and your coworkers will go out for drinks later and you will head back to your apartment where your once girlfriend has been gone for two weeks now.
Time will pass by ever further.
You will lie on your bed and look at the ceiling and want to cry from the stress since you really should have finished up that set of documents for your team but you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it this weekend.

The light by your bed will be crystal and nice and you will wish that you were alone in the world for just a few minutes.

This isn’t your personal blog, fuckwit, this world isn’t *for* you, get your shit together.

And you will sink in a bit further, past the negative metathought, to something deeper. The reason she isn’t with you, the reason it didn’t work out, is that nothing really ever “works out”; things just keep going or don’t. You are going to have to acclimate to this new world.
