First thing I did was find a donor dial in my parts bin that fit the case.
>Strip what was left of the paint off of the dial with thinners.
>Primed it with automotive primer.
>Painted it matte black, again, with automotive paint.
>Gf painted her design onto the dried dial with UNI Posca paint pens.
>I hit it with a clear coat of automotive lacquer, and then assembled the whole thing.

Was a pretty fun project. Here's some of the dial designs she did that we didn't use for this project, but we might use in future. She's never painted on anything this small before, so getting the design right was a real challenge.
