I am aware of that and it does sadly look like it has become a whole lot harder over the years.
Modern "safari tourism" sickens me. I don't want to go to Africa to sleep in silk sheets and stuff myself at a breakfast buffet.
But I do believe that where there is a will there must be a way to hunt Africa without a guide to hold your hand.
If not in the southern African countries, maybe East Africa. In any case it will probably prove to be pretty difficult.
At the moment I am occupied with looking for some Namibian farm that will let me work for them for a few months.

As Africa Addio said: The old Africa is dead. But I refuse that I won't find nothing when I look hard enough.
