start with some thick rimmed or wire frame glasses that fit your face WELL, you want something that will compliment your brow and cheekbones to make you look more serious/brooding. as for the hair, really anything could go, but I’d stick to something easy that, again, compliments your face shape (maybe even something like a very loose perm with shorter sides). Vintage blazers and long coats will look good with this aesthetic, but in my opinion this is the one item you should make sure REALLY fits your shoulders, especially if you plan on going vintage/thrifted because a lot of those older jackets have padded shoulders. turtlenecks should be a staple for you, black of course, but even something in gray may look nice. short sleeve and long sleeve button down shirts will look nice too, try to go for white. maybe a french tuck (a bit of a dead meme but i think it could look nice with this unkempt “dark and edgy intellectual” aesthetic you’re wanting. another thing worth mentioning is sweaters. look for cashmere blends or merino wool sweaters, black of course, no design. you can find something like this in any department store like a JC Penny or Macy’s, unless you’re trying to go high end with this look. As far as pants go, I’d say shoot for slim tapered dress pants in wool and polyester blends, the former for colder temps and the latter for warmer days. black too, of course. (and when i say slim fit i mean something that is quite relaxed through the thigh and begins to slim just a bit through the calves just to taper the silhouette slightly). you can cuff or crop those as you see fit, i think that would look cool. and lastly, shoes. go for a pair of Dr Martens 1461 derbies in Mono black. A pair of mono 1460 boots may also be cool and fit the look for the colder weather or even if you’re just trying to work boots into the look. and of course your trademark dirty white sneakers. reebok club c, or stan smiths. beat the fuck out of them.
