The same thought process could be used to justify both cases: Someone wishes they just didn't care about being skinny and just to enjoy being normal, someone wishes they could stop caring about being really successful and just be happy working a low paying job, someone wishes they could not care about being independent and just live with their parents, you could go on forever but basically it just gets to the point were someone wishes there was nothing important to them so they could be happy doing nothing. Heroin is ultimately that experience because people on it just feel so good existing (for a period of time) that literally nothing matters. Then when they're off it all they care about is getting more.

I didn't mean to sound hostile or anything because I wasn't upset. I just think it's important to have things that matter to you and anything worthwhile is going to be difficult.

It's easy to not care about things; picking something to care about and then actually caring about it is what makes life worth living imo.
