I have a couple G-Shocks.
I love them.
Thing is, they're well more than I need for a daily.
I always end up going back to one of my F-91W's because they are all I really need.
Someone mentioned the F105, which is basically an A168 with a plastic strap.
Yeah, it's got a better backlight, but I like the super slim profile of the F-91W.
My life doesn't require a good backlight.
You know what you could do?
Just get both and see which one you wear more often.

All of my F-91W's have after market straps or bracelets.
The only thing I don't like about them is the strap.
Not because it's uncomfortable, so much as they just don't conform to my wrist as well as a NATO.
I've used this method and I like it.
I ended up putting a NATO on it, though the "soft boiled" method does work.

I have a negative G-Shock and it doesn't have good viewing angles.
I prefer positive display.
However, if you're going for aesthetic alone, I think it's great.
Also, after market straps are great.
