thanks for answering. I was lucky enough to be popular all the way through life up until high school when I realized I hated everything, I was also highly depressed from being molested as a kid. It wasn't until last year that I decided to overhaul my life and remove the negativity. I realized that who I "was" was just a golem created to deal with the pressures and emotions I was hiding (I was always the friend that had no love, despite getting girls).
So, I moved across the country for a year, forced myself to make new friends and try new experiences.
By tthe end of that year, I decided to change what I called "me." The things that had to go:
>low self esteem despite people telling me I'm attractive and dress well.
>negativity towards others
>beating myself up over my shortcomings or past
>not appreciating things I do have like my family and friends
>being too materialistic

I am absolutely happier and more content than I've ever been (even began studying buddhism seriously). So, my friends, my advice is to be nicer because everyone is suffering with the same problems, and everyone including you WILL die and you will not know when, but no one wants to take the ego hit to make the change and lose the power struggle (even an anonymous one)
