I honestly don't think it'd be do hard. It's not entirely different than "hipster" or "alt" fashion that's been popularized in the past years. I think the key is taking elements of it, the general silhouette, etc., and not go full on suspenders.
I made a grid here. I think you can wear this, or something similar (nevermind the specific brands), and it'd look totally normal if you did it right. Notice I avoided blue jeans, and bleachers, and suspenders, and chose a fabric bomber instead of nylon military one. etc.
