I agree; the movement is fucking amazing, that's absolutely not in denial. I love the combination of mechanical and electric that keeps the wholt hing working. The problem is the style to my eyes. But that's life. The day/date is awesome. The cyclopses...you get used to them and they're actually useful as you get older (and we all get older).

Honestly? One of those Casio digital things that we used to get as kids. If you go analog, then perhaps something like >>15090281 suggested. I recently got a watch I was lusting after since I was a kid...the Citizen Nighthawk. Had to get it from fucking Japan because they've stopped meaking the configuration that I always wanted. Point is, I can wear it on roller coasters and use it as a 'beater' which I'd never do with my Omega or other watches. Similarly, it has 200m water resistence, so why not.

Problem is really, you want a beater that is quartz analog that looks good but doesn't break the bank. Have you thought about Citizen?
