tl;dr: wear it if you want

i have an ankle lenght skirt like pic related and a hakama and i personally pull them of.
Just go and try them on and see how they look on you and think what you are going to combine them with, obviously different pieces will give completly different results.
Also if you arent too confident in it or a little afraid you can start with a hakama which has always been worn by males and it was also used in the 80s, if all that fails you can still say that its actually really really wide trousers
