I wonder if it's like a stem nerd thing, or an autism thing that stuff like gender roles and belief systems have to all be binary for some people.

Do they just hate seeing the categories get disarrayed or something? Is it an OCD thing? I'm really struggling to conjure why some people think they have any say over another person's concept of self-identity.
Like, where does that seem like a good idea? How do you get there? How do you decide that your opinion of right and wrong outweighs all others?
I think it's some kind of mental illness, honestly. This constant surety in your own beliefs, this need to make sure that YOUR perception of the status quo applies across the board. The need to enforce your vision on other people. It's unhealthy.
It must be a horrible way to live. I an't imagine how much cortisol that sort of thinking produces.
