Dude what? Notes are familiar scents that can be picked out from the overall scent. Are you seriously telling me that any time you've smelled a fragrance you've NEVER thought "huh that smells like (vanilla / lemon / cedar / etc)". Because that's all that notes are, it's not rocket science.
