Don't worry about that so much.

Regarding the pigskin; if it were me I'd return it immediately and consider a double-rider from a different company. If you can return it, as you mentioned it was on sale.

There's nothing a tailor can do about the shoulder narrowness or the stomach bulginess. The cut of the jacket itself is the problem, and that comes from the designers. As I'm sure you've experienced, some companies make clothing where you can just wear it off the rack...and other companies make clothing in which it seems no one can fit into it.

Bottom line: why not take the pigskin back, and keep it in your mind as a general design for the future (double-rider that is a light colour and not black). There are many out there...you're sure to find one.

lol I know...most Anons hate it, but I love it. Eventually you get to a point where you just wear what you want to wear, but then again I have 10+ leathers in my stable right now, so I've got lots of options.

This particular one is a raincoat which has proven to be fucking awesome, and utterly unique in my city. It's a fun jacket, and I love wearing it, so fuckit...lol Such is life.

Sorry, more thoughts about this.
>wish stuff like this was more acceptable...

It's acceptable if you make it so. Granted, it has to fit well, and you have to find stuff to pair it with, but ultimately the social power of wearing something strange comes from the wearer wearing it like it's normal. That throws the uncertainty back onto the person who is judging it to be odd or strange. In other words, it's easy for someone to point and laugh, but if the wearer is being serious and doesn't care, then the pointer starts to doubt if they're sane....lol That's pretty much how it works. You still have to plan it though (colours, shapes, etc.), but if the combo is good and appropriate to the climate/setting then that kind of fear of ridicule disappears pretty quickly when you notice that either no one cares what you're wearing or that anyone who does looks like a fool for pointing it out.

Lastly...life is too short to not wear what you want. I'm sorry, but I've gotten to the point where I don't give a damn. Sure, I am careful to have the combos I want and to think about it....but if a jacket or shoes or whatever make you happy, then why the fuck not? Consider that right now in Western society, people are 'celebrated' and encouraged to dress in ways that are unpredictable or challenge the conservative perception. It used to be a social minority thing (counterculture) but now it's become mainstream. Why can these people enjoy wearing strange outfits, and you can't enjoy wearing a coat? Seems odd to me, so I'd say if the jacket fits, wear the damn thing and enjoy it. That's all...

When I get a chance; my tailor finished it this week, and I've been wearing it a lot since. Soon, when I have more time.

The general rule is to match the leather colour if you're wearing leather shoes. Black jacket with black boots, brown with brown, etc. It doesn't really become try-hard because in general only women notice footwear. There's nothing wrong wearing a brown leather jacket with black boots, but it does affect the total perception of it...something seems off. With the grey long coat I wear black boots, and with the white long coat I wear black formal boots, as is per usual with my suits. Other colours would require other things though.

Schott, Aero, Vanson, Matchless, Belstaff (before Malenotti left), and independents like Jonathan A. Logan, Wested, and other small manufacturers and designers. I'm sure there are others I could name, but honestly it's about personal preference, fit, and design.

You are foolish.

>pic because it's raining outside and it's cosy in the hood...

You know, that's probably the first time anyone has ever said that to me about this jacket. I've already achieved what I'm aiming for; a comfy jacket that keeps out the rain and has a hood.

What leather are you sporting this season Anon?

Where it asks me to put my feet...where else?

Of course not.

Oh dear god...I never said that. The patch is an integral part of the jacket. It's no different than wearing clothing with Japanese characters on them (which is surprisingly common in Britain).

>>13559479
Not really. The Union Jack is a symbol. Is everyone who wears clothing with the American flag on it American? I'd almost think that you've never been on /fa/ before...

>>13559526
I do, and it's rainy a lot which is the reason I bought it (the hood). But I don't really need to 'skulk'...I just walk with my friends, like normal people do.

You know, I've been looking into that recently, which is why I said I've figured out a few things. For instance, when wearing a long jacket like this with a hood, it's almost universally beneficial to either wear a low necked t-shirt or a turtleneck (not one that is plushy, but one that is thin). Anything in between (like a collared shirt) is useless, and even a normal t-shirt (with the neck above the collar bones) is not ideal.

I'm still trying to root out the cause...I think it has to do with the perception of the 'head' given the length of the jacket as well as the extra mass added to the shoulders by the hood. Either way, you'll see this kind of thing in nearly every long coated character in the past decade on film. They all either have a low neck, or a turtleneck...nothing in between.

The next two are similar, yet slightly different. I didn't get a good shot of the hood up last time, but I figured out how to do it. Here it is when the jacket is buttoned up. The hood is not too large, not too small, and if you have a normal sized head and you don't have an afro, then it's perfect. Quite frankly, I love this look more than anything, because it's not screaming 'I'm a videogame try-hard'. It's just a grey leather jacket with a hood in the rain. I understand that many may not agree, but these are my thoughts and impressions regardless.
