Quick question about no 'poo

When I rinse my hair with water only, I usually towel it extra hard and that seems to take care of excess oil. I notice no difference between regular shampooing and no 'poo even after a month. Am I doing it wrong by compensating for the lack of shampoo by toweling the oil out harder, or am I doing it right?
