Grand Seiko has far more complex external finishing than Rolex, with considerably more of it done by hand than Rolex.

This is understandable as Rolex have tool watch origins and must design their watches in such a way as to facilitate mass production with more automated equipment, while Grand Seiko only produced about 10,000 watches a year and can therefore use much more hand labour. GS manufacturing processes have more in common with entry level JLC than they do with Rolex.

I wouldn't even consider an Omega over a Grand Seiko. GS is a Rolex and entry level JLC competitor. I'd buy an in-house Tudor over an Omega.
