Bombers are comfy, and they should be. The only thing I can say is that fashion goes in 30 year cycles, so the 'slim-fit' thing that we're going through now will pass, and the needle will go to the other end once more (think Kanye and his big coats).

It's all the same in the end. If you love wearing your jackets, if they serve the purpose you bought them for, and if you get the attention you'd like from the people you want, then it's all good.

It's your life Anon, don't let others dictate how you should live it.

Gotta go myself.

>still can't believe someone made a meme of this...I feel like Milhouse.

If you don't watch your p's and q's, you might force me to give you a dissertation carefully explaining not only why you're wrong but why your perspective is actually part of the cancer that eats away at individual style, and that is an epidemic to the now supersaturated west, which has cannot accept cultural differences at the risk of seeming racist but at the same time has nothing original left to offer other than re-combinations of styles from 30 years ago being resold to the youth who don't know any better. Don't risk it...just love it.

Well, for what it's worth, make sure you're going to stay at the weight/size that you're at now before buying any new leather. The cost alone is prohibitive, but fit is everything with leather, so you have to make sure you are at a stable size if you want to buy a jacket for long term. Shearling doesn't go out of style really, especially if you're in the market for a military style jacket, so the idea is that you should buy the jacket thinking you'll wear it for the next 10 years or so (that makes the cost worth while).

It took me 3 years to get down to the size I am AND make sure it was stable. Diet, exercise, but also age affects this too. I'm not getting larger or smaller now, and my eating habits are rather predictable, so the long coat became a possibility which it wasn't before.

Good luck though; Aero makes good shearling, as does Wested. It's all expensive, but if you want something warm and that will last, you might as well buy the real thing (fake shearling doesn't hold heat well and it shreds rather quickly).

Some Anon made the pic...it's very sweet of them, so I put it in the collection...

Nothing wrong with wearing your Dad's jacket. If it fits, then it's a legacy of a kind. Why would you be embarassed wearing it walking around? It's a jakcet, for christs-sake, and you have the benefit of having a story to go behind it. Women get wet about shit like that. Wear it with pride and confidence, and get pussy.

>>13623550
Yes. AND AND?????AND????? What. You have a problem with me? You think the info I happily give is useless ? You think I can't contribute to a thread? What the fuck have you done aside from complainign like a child? One day you'll learn that helping others is the only thing that gives us unconditional pleasure in this world...and that enjoying clothing because you genuinely like it is as beautiful as enjoying a liquor that only you like. Who the fuck cares if others don't like it....no matter what, your own life is enriched, so fuck the haters. Maybe one day you'll find a jacket which gives you as much pleasure as the DMC does for me. Then you'll understand...

>>13623729
Sorry, are you curious about the jacket, or about the fit, or all of it?

>>13623997
Agreed, to a point. Everyone needs help with leather eventually, that's why they come here. Just a clarifyicaiton.

Wasting time in life not wearing what you're afraid to wear is stupid. Go for it and stop being a pussy. Most people in the world dress like shit....what's the worst that can happen to you?

Fortunately, since the people I hang out with knew that I lived in the UK for many years, the flag isn't an issue, and given where I am I'd assume it wouldn't be an issue anyway because people wear whatever the hell they want to wear, flags included. 'Shooter core'....that was a concern at first, but given that I don't complete that core at all (i.e. no tactical pants, no sunglasses, etc.), it's not a concern at all. Also, we don't have people who do that here, and we're not likely to in the near future.

While I would agree with you under normal terms, clothing today has extended towards the globalist ideal that was discussed in another thread. Everyone is an inhabitant of 'planet earth', and if you deal with multikulti on a daily basis like me, the prevailing attitude towards anything that represents a 'culture' is of what was past, not what is now. The Union Jack literally means 'Royal Family' to people I know...nothing more. Superdry Japanese characters means 'foreign'. American flag on JC Penny t-shirts means 'U.S.A.....U.S.A......U.S.A.....' it's all the same.

I understand your point of view, however the meanings that you derive from the clothing are simply non-existent or entirely different to the meanings people AROUND ME derive from the clothing. This is something that is very difficult to communicate online, of course, but it's something that you have to accept.

If I were out with you, where you live, with your friends, this jacket might be inappropriate. Where I live, sandals are utterly useless, linen shirts/trousers are wasted, and people are so inundated with 'culture' that individual cultures are meaningless and empty. Anyone can wear anything, without the spectre of cultural appropriation, and I'm thankful for that, as I've seen what havoc it can wreak when enforced.

Pic just for you.

Immortality status achieved! I'm flattered, but there is only one Dante-Anon. Also, this shouldn't be your first leather jacket.

Sadly, OP didn't consider any of my questions at all in >>13519869 Maybe a wall of text is in order.

There are so many options to go with regarding leather, and everything depends on your current style, what you would use it for in life, what the climate is where you live, and so forth. But there are significant other problems which you have to account for.

1) Cost: many have talked about this already, but it's simple. If you want to experiment with the style, then buy fake leather. It's cheaper, and if you regret it after a season, then it's not a big loss. If you are going to buy real leather, then you are accepting that you want a particular style jacket for more than 5 years (because that's really how long it takes to weather properly, and also to get your money's worth in terms of cost per day of wear).

2) Unless you're willing to spend spend spend, then it's not a good idea for your first jacket to get something that is stylistically trendy. Trends go out faster now than ever, and the more trendy the jacket is, the less versatile it becomes.

3) I absolutely disagree with >>13522768
regarding the fit of a jacket. Unless it's an A2, then it's supposed to fit as a second skin (i.e. tight when zipped, but not "I can't breathe"). Yes, you have to take into consideration what you're wearing underneath, and that issue will never change with leather because it doesn't have the same expansion/contraction tolerances as cotton or synthetics. Furthermore, if you get a jacket that fits today, you better stay in shape, because if you get fat it won't fit and if you get thin it'll look like your father's.

Your question OP is VERY open ended...you need to narrow it down so that people can give you realistic ideas. You might as well have asked, 'It's summer. What sneakers should I buy?'
