I have to say I quite disagree with you. Yes, what you mentioned is modest core. But modest core is still made in sweatshops with child labour. All the brands you mentioned are not gream from the point of view of material quality (with the exception of Merrell, which lasts long, but still you cannot really repair their shoes).
Also, don't buy unsless it's second hand. That way you can get great goods made of better materials which last longer and can be repaired easily.
