What I find so compelling about monochrome fits is that it reduces the most obvious parameter that goes into a fit. This means for once that every piece that conform to the chosen color automatically has a connection to all the other pieces, but it also amplifies the differences in material, texture and cut. Putting on some grey CPs, slim grey chinos, a grey t-shirt and a slim grey canvas jacket can very easy but also very boring. Not because of the color only, but because of the sameness of texture and sameness of silhouette.
So making monochrome fits work means being conscious about different textures and shapes. This is the same with all-back, but I feel that neutral colors pronounce the textures more than black.
