I don't pay that much. I get them on sale or at estate sales or slightly worn from a few reputable sources for such things. I bought a pair of Brioni shoes for $125 that had been worn at a fashion show one time. They're worth 1500. Here's a pic after I wore them 3 or so times to teach.

Burgundy Shell, Cigar Shell both in Plain Toe Blucher, and a basic oxford are the go to shoes.

Loafers are for wealthy people who don't work. It's more of a casual shoe.

I like these Brioni captoe bluchers because they are basic, classic and not too dressy.

Forgot the Brioni shoes I've worn 3 times at the end of fall. I intend to switch over to more scotch grain blacks and plain toes by November.
