You're idolizing of the past - things were different back then, not necessarily for better or worse, just different.

It's like those "born-in-the-wrong-generation" guys, who wants everyone to listen Led Zeppelin and hates rap. I detest rap as well, and ironically enough i mainly wear suits, but i appreciate that i have the *option* to do so, and that it isn't a choice that is taken for me. I enjoy being able to form my own life and career, instead of having to take over the family business and so on. What you're talking about existed because people didn't have a choice in the matter, and they rebelled as soon as they got one.

Why is it so hard to just do your thing, and appreciate that you're free to do so, while others do theirs?
