I will agree to this 100% having also handled them both. But I want to add that the movement in the daytona is more modern, plus it's automatic. But then again, the 1861 (particularly 1863) is much prettier to look at.

Only a few daytonas look good tho, this pic related one is the best looking and probably the only daytona I would buy.
