I'm a brainlet so I'm gonna word this terribly, but here goes:

The quartz thing is inside a metal tube, then there is copper rolled around it. Right? If right, proceed to next question:

Is there a specific amount of copper that needs to be round those quartz tubes?

Could you cut a tiny piece of copper off and it'd still work without it?

Could the movement be shorted if something touched that copper wire?

I realize this post is reddit formatted AND tremendously faggoty but hopefully a kind anon can help me understand, I've always wanted to know these things.
