I have this pair of $30 prokeds from when I was starting out, never worn. They're basically chucks without the toe cap.

Think they'd look good if I painted them gray? Or should I stick with white and dye the laces slightly darker?

The laces are sort of cream-colored, so there wouldn't be enough contrast if I just painted the shoes white
