I had one of these and I have something very important to tell you from my experiences:

They do not make the best choice if you want something functional.

The interior has a lot of pockets specifically for medical gear. Other than the ones that fit pens, these are not a lot of use because they are designed to fit specific bottles and have no closure, so your shit will fall out and mix at the bottom of your bag.

Secondly - these are semi hardshell bags to protect the aforementioned medical gear. They have a pressboard inserted between a layer of cotton burlap and shirting materiel. The board warps slightly when wet, and if it is stricken hard enough can break.

lastly and most importantly, messenger bags tend to ride against your body. soft messenger bags merely conform as to your body and ride comfortable.
Since these have hard shells, they slide back and forth.

The achilles heel of these bags is that the bag rides back and forth against your ass and the hard shell means it wears down the fabric on the reverse side of your bag. After about 1Yr of regular use you will have an unpatchable hole due to the confluence of materiel and construction choices.
I would say if you want a half hardshell bag to use some of the time and have other bags to swap out 75% of the time, cop the bag. Otherwise - dont.
