GS owner here. In general that's true but like most brands there are some people who buy one brand and one brand only.

GS are what I'd call a mid-level brand with aspirations. They haven't produced a watch yet to compete with the more well know HH names. You might possibly say a Spring Drive but that's still a very tough sell to a lot of buyers of mechanical watches.

No. I like watches and there is a lot to like about GS and their history so are fine as part of the collection. However it's almost certain I will never buy another GS. They are good but not great.

Directly comparing a dress watch to a tool watch when it comes to style doesn't make much sense to me. Comparing the Rolex to say the Grand Seiko SBGJ229G would be a more apt discussion. Another watch I've actually tried on that looks much better in pictures than in real life.
