They do look really nice. I feel almost bad that Red Wing is making all these changes to appeal to the modern audience but I get it, their bulbous toe boxes just aren't that cool unless it's for a specific aesthetic. I'm still just confused as to why RW made the Sheldon model if they already had the Merchant and then went and made the Williston which seems barely different than the Sheldon.

That being said, the Merchants are still their best looking boot. It's on the same last as the Iron Rangers and Blacksmiths but without the bump toe. They look like you could wear the hell out of them and beat them to shit and they'd just look better for it. They will be my next Red Wing boot if I could ever just stop buying White's boots instead.
