if you have some money to burn, a standard drafting pencil like the graphgear 500/1000 or the rOtring 600/800 are good buys. There's also something like the kuru toga which has a built in lead spinning action to keep it sharp, although it's kind of gimmicky. Personally, however, out of all the pens/pencils I've wasted my money on, the Norma 4 has been the coolest for frequent use. It's a vintage 4-color mechanical pencil, and although the lead for it can be difficult to find, there's one website (legendaryleadcompany) that has them in stock.
pic related is the model of Norma I have. there's a bunch of types but this is just the standard model from sometime around the late 1950s/early 1960s
