Should say that a striped tie isn't necessarily a regimental tie. There are way more colour combinations than regiments. Anyway I've worked at expensive private schools for most of my adult life (as a school teacher) and I have a lot of ties. Certainly there are military families in my current school but no-one has ever said anything. Here's what I wore today. How the am I supposed to know if this belongs to a regiment? It doesn't have any insignia, it's generic as fuck.
